Some Pictures I’ve Liked volume 13
The “favorites”/”bookmarks” system at Photoblogs.org is changing on May 1, so I’ve been bookmarking old favorites and revisiting sites that I haven’t gone to for a while. Oh, if only I had unlimited time, I’d spend a much larger chunk of it scouring sites like these for great pictures! Here are ten for this week, a mere sample of what I’ve seen and loved.
- Winter Sky over Minster from Chris Maughan; a very dramatic sky indeed.
- Torino, Italy from Oh Cameras Are Macho!; the colors on this are so warm and rich; and for extra fun, slide the picture up and down the screen to watch it zoom in and out (but not until after you’ve had your first cup of coffee)
- Laureaat (portree) from Tuulelohelend; the shallow depth of field makes this even more disturbing…
- I from Mick Watson; one in an alphabet series; see them all!
- Poppies from Marmalade Chainsaw; the saturation and perspective make interesting a shot of an over-photographed subject.
- Musicians on the bridge from the Wink photoblog; a little hot-club jazz on a cool winter day.
- Break Through from Ellie Argilla; not so much for the picture (which is good) but for the “decisive moment” it represents (Cartier-Bresson lives on)
- Untitled from Staring at the Sun; the sky, the lights, the lines…
- 127 from Alain Astruc; this looks like the opening frame of a Jim Thompson movie; that broad is up to no good, in a good way…
- …and life quickly fades away… from Optic Views; a delicate view of decay.

[...] 137 from Alain Astruc; another apparent movie still from Msr. Astruc, this one from a moody French love story starring Irène Jacob. [...]
