Some Pictures I’ve Liked volume 15

Quite a week. Here are some pictures I enjoyed and some thoughts about them:

  • dance from Eletrolite; wow.
  • My Morning Coffee from Sopheava de Lumiére. Ms. Andrews’ blog is one of my guilty pleasures; though she lives in Minneapolis, too, we might as well be on different planets: she’s young and hip and downtown, I’m old and square and in the leafy neighborhoods; she has all the new, cool photography gear, my cameras have an average age of 43 years (48 if that Holga whippersnapper isn’t included); she can spend her days and nights visiting the hot spots or hanging out; I’m the harried father of adorable hellions. But she takes really good pictures, and this is certainly one of them. (Though my winter storm experience that day was quite different from hers.)
  • Inner Tube Boy In the Water by Tim Conner. This is a fabulous series of photographs taken in the summer of 1976 around South Minneapolis–part historical documentary, part nostalgia factory, these pictures manage to make me feel homesick even though I was never in Minneapolis in 1976; summer still sometimes looks like this around here.
  • Fog and Barn from Photojenic; I love the way the roof glows.
