Some Pictures I’ve Liked volume 21

Remember–the 2006 Photobloggies are still taking nominations until tomorrow, May 8; get your favorites some attention!

12 this week from around the web:

  • Something Unsaid from eric nelson; this a Worldwide Pinhole Day shot, the galleries of which are chock full of fascinating pictures, but somehow this one–eerie and evocative–stands out from them all for me.
  • There is a house in Punggol #2 from fotograf by imran; the richness of the red tile floor is terribly unsettling.
  • Mayor’s Gardens from Mike’s Right Brain; I love the vivid colors and sun flair in this one.
  • Tomb of the Voodoo Queen from Out of Contxt; Marie Laveau has never looked so spooky.
  • Swamp Thing from Moodaholic; the green cast makes this particularly atmospheric.
  • London Eye on Worldwide Pinhole Day from nyclondon.com; this site is one of the best for pinhole experiments, so it’s no surprise that the Worldwide Pinhole Day offering is so evocative.
  • war from Big Happy Funhouse; I’m sure this picture was a developer or exposure disaster–I use cameras of this era, so I know of what I speak–but sometimes the accidents are the most fruitful. Someone setting out to duplicate this picture couldn’t have done as well.
  • Thor’s Day from bea; those empty stalks look both delicately fragile and incredibly strong.
  • Bicycle Built for Two from A Walk Through Durham Township; such rich tones.
  • american dreamer from fateye; gritty and unflinching.
  • YBIJP from Exp; the dress, the petals, the curve of the walkway; I don’t normally like fashion photography (despite my “Funny Face” obsession), but this one is simply classic.
  • Sophie in Stripes from Smallest Photo; when I first saw this, I thought it was an old Polaroid snap from the ’70s; the colors and tones make this timeless.
