Laid on it for a covering
Know’st thou not at the fall of the leaf
How the heart feels a languid grief
Laid on it for a covering,
And how sleep seems a goodly thing
In Autumn at the fall of the leaf?Dante Gabrielle Rossetti, Autumn Song

oh! it’s so nice to see some color!
… i should say, colors of nature other than blizzard white. how i long for an early spring!
Much agreed, bea! Though here it’s been a mostly brown and gray winter, with incredible cold (-2F this morning, and that’s a warming trend…)–we’ve avoided the blizzards you folks have been handed over the last week or so. Spring can’t come too soon.
