Scout Flags
I heard the news last night from Iowa with horror.
Two weeks ago, we were at our Cub Scout pack’s spring camp, and watched heavy storms roll through the Twin Cities, forty miles north of us. We had wind and lightning, and had to hold our campfire program in the cabin, and there were a lot of nervous Scouts asking lots of questions about the weather, but we were lucky. We knew where the shelters were, and we were prepared (as of course Scouts ought to be) to move to the northeast corner of the building (we spent the morning learning how to read a compass); but we suffered nothing more than a good drenching and some loosened tent stakes.
Our thoughts and prayers, and those of Scouts worldwide, are with the Scouts and Scouters of the Mid-America Council.
