FED3

The FED3 was my first old camera. I wanted a Leica, but I couldn’t possibly afford it; the FED3, a Soviet camera made in massive quantities from the ’30s to the ’80s, was the next best thing. And it’s a wonderful rangefinder–quiet and fast, with a low-light lens. On top of that, it was a retirement gift to a Soviet engineer in 1964, and has a nice engraving on the top. I added an 80mm telephoto lens to round out the kit.

Some FED3 pictures here.
